Weekend Art — Visionary
Reflections thru the blinds
This charcoal drawing began with a photograph I once took of Charles. When my son later asked me to capture the drawing, I didn’t take it off the wall — I simply snapped it where it hung. To my surprise, the photo revealed him gazing out through the blinds, as if still in thought.
I often described Charles as a visionary, and somehow both the drawing and the photograph caught that spirit — his eyes fixed on something beyond the frame. Sometimes art does more than preserve a likeness; it preserves a presence.
